Microsoft hopes they are making progress on a new type of supercomputer that, if it works, could outpace everyone else in the market. While looking to be the biggest provider of Qubits in the world, they have yet to actually produce one.

In a great move to distract all the open source people so they can plot in the background, Microsoft has released the file manager from windows 3.0 source code on GitHub.  Quadrillions of lines of unmaintainable code, from an OS so old as to be digitally ancient, now being open source is sure to be super helpful and while we are figuring that out, Microsoft AGI will have more time to take over the world before anyone notices…

With high end, AR finally sneaking its way into the background with HoloLens and Magic Leap, an up and coming company is trying to beat them out with an open source platform that has a wider field of vision, albeit being a bit more clunky.  While not terribly relevant to the market per se, the wider field of vision and open source nature puts pressure on the top billion-dollar bets which will evolve into the consumer AR space as that develops.  Don’t expect to find a CES consumer level release that will end up in Best Buy for a few more years though.

Solar is now the cheapest form of electricity; the main issue now is storage and that’s just a matter of battery prices coming down which boils down to large volume production.  Further, one company is looking at using a blockchain based resource management system; which may just be the beginning of the end for traditional power companies.
